This toolkit includes everything you need to promote the program and inspire young innovators (aged 15-18) in your community to apply. Whether you’re an educator, youth organization, community leader, or partner, your support helps more youth see themselves as changemakers.

At-a-Glance
- What: Ingenious+ – Canada’s youth innovation challenge!
- Who: Canadian youth aged 14–18 (Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada). Apply individually or as a team (up to 4).
- Cost: Free to apply!
- Why: Up to 300 youth from across Canada will receive $1,000 to grow their project (plus the chance to advance to the national stage for up to $10,000), as well as mentorship and national recognition.
- When: Applications run December 1, 2025 – January 23, 2026.
Who Should Apply
Motivated teens aged 14–18 who have an idea or project that makes life better in their community, or beyond. Applicants can apply individually or as part of a team (up to 4 members). Projects can be early-stage or already underway, as long as they show potential for positive impact.
Innovations can fall under one (or more) of five key themes:

🤝 Community & Civic Engagement

How to apply:

- Click Apply Now to create your account.
- You will receive an email once your account has been activated. Complete your application form and submit a short video or written description of your idea.
- Submit by January 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

I wanted to share this great opportunity from the Rideau Hall Foundation. Applications are now open for Ingenious+, Canada’s youth innovation challenge for teens aged 14–18.
Ingenious+ celebrates young people who see a problem and decide to do something about it. Participants receive $1,000 to grow their project, plus mentorship and national recognition. Innovation can take many forms – from climate action to community leadership, health, technology, or inclusion.

Ingenious+ encourages applications from all youth. Innovation comes from lived experience, and anyone can have the next great idea.
For parents/guardians
Safety & Support
Ingenious+ is designed with youth safety, accessibility, and support in mind.
- All applicants under the age of majority in their province require parental or guardian consent.
- No fees are required to apply.
- Winners are invited to attend Ingenious+ Award Ceremonies (in their region, or in Ottawa or another major Canadian city for the national winners), where they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. All travel costs are covered by the RHF.
- Mentorship and learning opportunities are delivered in a supportive safe environments.
- Youth can contact the Ingenious+ team directly for help or clarification at any time.
