April 24, 2025 – Seven projects led by Quebec teens are advancing to the finals of Rideau Hall Foundation’s Ingenious+ Youth Innovation challenge. This nation-wide search for young change makers connects youth with funding and resources to take their local innovation to the next level. Each regional winner receives $1,000 and a spot in the national competition. There, they could win up to $10,000 along with prestigious learning and networking opportunities.

“Our goal is to discover the incredible grassroots work of teens across the country and help them scale their made-in-Canada innovations.” says Teresa Marques, President and CEO of the RHF. “We received many inspiring projects from Quebec youth that are already making a profound impact. With resources from Ingenious+, they’ll be able to grow that impact exponentially.”

Regional winners from Quebec include an app that breaks down language barriers to connect people with healthcare professionals, an algae-based purification system to improve classroom air quality, and an outreach program that addresses isolation among people living rough in Montreal. All seven Quebec regional winners will be celebrated at a ceremony on May 7 at the Citadelle of Québec in Quebec City.
These projects are just a sample of the innovations in the running for national awards. Winners from each region are being announced at IngeniousPlus.ca in the weeks leading up to the national awards ceremony, which takes place in Ottawa during Canadian Innovation Week, May 26-30, 2025.
